🎭 What's on Edinburgh's stages this week?
Here's Thom Dibdin of All Edinburgh Theatre:
It's a cracker of a week this, with a bona fide West End star in town (for those who have tickets), a cracking Student company and the return of the magnificent Manipulate Festival.
Lucky are those who have tickets for Jodie Comer in Prima Facie at the Lyceum (Tue - Sat: returns). It's sold out and no one else will get in.
Tickets are there, but few and far between, for the dozen Manipulate Festival shows (various venues, ends Tue 10). Æ's overview and listing of the live performances is here and the Manipulate website is here.
Where to go instead? The every intriguing Theatre Paradok turn to Alan Bennett's The History Boys at the Bedlam (Tue - Sat: tickets), with gender-blind but age-appropriate actors.
Whether fans of the sitcom Friends are in for a treat a the Playhouse remains to be seen. FRIENDS! The Musical Parody(Thurs - Sat: tickets) boasts "an entirely original musical score", which may (or may not) be a red flag. But it looks like one to me.
Always a hit, Turan Ali is back at the Storytelling Centre with more Queer Folks Tales (Fri: tickets).
And finally, for those who fancy performing on Edinburgh’s stages, there are a couple of new entries in our Auditions Diary.
Full details on Æ's listings pages all linked here, including three (count ‘em) shows from top student companies starting with an innovative Romeo & Juliet opening on Monday.
