News:

🎵 The Royal High School Preservation Trust announced a funding package potentially worth £5m from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The building on Calton Hill is set to be transformed into the National Centre for Music. Construction is due to kick off this summer, aiming for completion and opening in summer 2027. - Full details on the project’s page here. There’s also a video feature on the project here.

🎭 Starting today and running until 18 March: Refractions: New Conceptions of Film + Photography - part of Edinburgh Art Festival’s year-round civic programme. It aims to connect marginalised people with creativity through film, theatre, photography, ceramics and writing. Venues include McDonald Road Library, Embassy Gallery, St Margaret’s House and a beach photoshoot hosted by Stills.
⮑ There are workshops on experimental theatre, you can document a nature walk through photography, learn about writing art criticism or shape clay in response to sensual film. The workshops are led by ‘an exceptional collection of local creatives, with care at the core’. - The full programme is here.
